Chicken Ginger Stew (Tinolang Manok)

Chicken Ginger Stew or Tinolang Manok is very famous among Filipino dishes. "Tinola" an old dish, was derived from older chicken soups by the Chinese.


Ingredients:
Chicken 3/4 kg - cut into medium pieces
Green Papaya 1 piece (regular size) - cut into medium pieces
Chili Leaves
Green Chili
Ginger
Onion
Garlic
Cooking Oil
Water - 3 cups
Chicken cube - 1 piece
Salt

How to Cook:
1. Heat casserole and pour with small amount of cooking oil.
2. Saute ginger, onion then add garlic.
3. Once the garlic turns golden brown, add the chicken then mix equally.
4. Cover the casserole in 10 minutes then mix again the chicken, wait till the oil gets dry.
5. Once the oil is almost dry, add 3 cups of water.
6. Cover the casserole and boil the chicken around 15 to 20 minutes to tender.
7. Add the green papaya and boil till papaya gets tender.
8. Put the chicken cubes and add salt to taste
10. Finally put in the chili leaves and green chili, cover the casserole and boil in half a minute.
11. Ready to serve.

Makes 4 to 5 servings.
